Dr. José L. Zayas-Castro, Chair and Professor of the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, will receive the 2009 ASEE John L. Imhoff Global Excellence Award for Industrial Engineering Education. This award is presented annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to the industrial engineering discipline, who exemplifies the highest standards of the professorate in industrial engineering, and has demonstrated global cooperation and understanding through leadership and other initiatives. The award will be presented on June 17, 2009 at the Annual Awards Banquet of the 2009 ASEE Annual Conference and Exposition to be held in Austin, Texas.

The selection for the highly regarded John L. Imhoff Award is initiated by a nomination, complete with references. The ASEE Awards Policy Committee evaluates the nomination in comparison to other nominations received and confirms the selection.
