Information Technology
Degrees: Information Technology (MS) ***PENDING FINAL APPROVAL
DELAY IN MSIT ADMISSIONS
The MSIT was established and approved for implementation at the former USF Polytechnic campus. When that campus was moved into a “teach-out” mode by legislation establishing Florida Polytechnic, IT faculty and students became part of USF Tampa. The BSIT program, which had been established long before, was simply transferred to the Tampa campus and continues to admit new students here. The MSIT, however, never having been through the review process at USF Tampa, must be reviewed by the USF Tampa Graduate Council, the arm of the USF Tampa Faculty Senate that approves courses and programs, prior to admission of new students into the MSIT in Tampa.
We have been informed that the Graduate Council will take up this matter in early fall, 2013. We expect resolution of any issues soon thereafter, and hope to be able to accept new MSIT students for spring, 2014, and thereafter.
We apologize for any inconvenience this delay causes new applicants. If you wish to be kept informed of the availability of the MSIT, please contact Dr. Paul Bao, graduate program director.
