Patches and Updates
|
The
security web site @ USF was created to help increase
the security awareness amongst USF students, faculty,
and staff. In it you will find information on the
latest virus, vulnerabilities affecting different
operating systems, as well as tools and hints that
will help making your computer and your server a bit
safer.

Usage
|
Engineering
Computing builds and maintains several high-performance
servers for compute-intense applications of students
and faculty. Graduate and Undergraduate students
are provided with limited space on these servers.
Students should use this space for bona-fide course
work only. If you need an increase in the space provided
to you send an email to Joseph Murphy, with your user id, and the reason
for the required increase in quota. |

Security Information
|
We will be implementing some security
changes for the Fall semester. Because of the rise
of attempts and exploits we are going to be blocking
the following ports: 135-139, 445, and 1433. We will
be blocking both TCP and UDP ports. What this means
to you is that you will no longer be able to map or
connect to the ENG network in the traditional manner.
Please see your department
tech for details.
