• Start the program from the Start menu. Start>Programs>Multimedia Tools>HP Scanjet Utilities>HP Precision Pro.

• Once the program start click on "Start a new scan" on the left hand side to begin.

• The scanner will give you a preview of the image you are scanning. Using the mouse, select the section you want to scan.

• On the drop down list box on the left, select the color resolution you want. Your choice can the affect the size and the format of the file you want to save it into.

• Next, click on "Save As" on the left side.
• On the "Save in" drop down list, select the location you want to save file to.
• On file name text field, enter the name of the file you want to save it into.
• Select the type of the file from the "Save as type" drop down list.
• Click on Save. Now you should be able to see your file on the location you have chosen.
