These non-research accounts will be given a 100MB quota and will have access to core applications such as Matlab, Maple, Mathematica, open-license compilers and IDEs, and standard Linux tools. Standard accounts will be created immediately after registration and acceptance of our terms of use.

    o Research Accounts

These accounts are to be used to engage in research activities. Research accounts are given access to the High-Performance Computing hardware queues and a quota space of 50GB. If you are a student, please be advised that you will need to provide your faculty sponsor's NetID in order to request a research account. Your sponsor will be notified of the request and will need to validate your research status before your request can be processed.

For either type of account please visit https://rc.usf.edu/signup/account.php

Webspace: All users with Engineering Unix accounts, are provided with a virtual space, the size of which is fixed based on your academic/professional level. This virtual webspace should only be used for academic purposes. If you need an increase in the space provided to you, please send an email to Jamie Fargen .
  • Engineering Windows Account
  • An Engineering Windows Account allows faculty and staff to utilize domain resources and enable users to logon to the engineering (ENG) domain. They will be able to gain access to their desktop computers and also remotely access the engineering domain through their desktop computers using the remote desktop connection.

Webmail for faculty & Staff (CofE Mail): Emails on the Engineering Windows Account can be accessed via the web at the following address: http://cofemail.eng.usf.edu (https://mailbox.acomp.usf.edu for Students).

In order to obtain an Engineering Windows Account, faculty and staff must first activate their NetID Account and Engineering Unix Account. The steps to activate a NetID Account and an Engineering Unix Account are explained above. After doing so, they have to contact their department’s computer technician or office manager who will submit an online application to Engineering Computing. Engineering Computing will then create an account and inform the technician or office manager of the account details such as username and password.
